As recipient of the highest award bestowed by the Department of the Interior, Mr. Wayne Nordwall brings to The Nicholas Group an enormous association of experience and proficiency in land acquisition regulations and their implementing instructions. Mr. Nordwall was presented with the Distinguished Service Award in May of 2006. Among his other high honors are the Presidential Rank Award and the Meritorious Service Award. Mr. Nordwall began his career with the Department of the Interior in the Phoenix Field Solicitor's Office decades ago. He relocated to Washington, D.C. and distinguished himself with the Bureau of Indian Affairs' Office of Trust Responsibilities and the Rights Protection Office. While in Washington he was the author of the original draft of the Indian Land Consolidation Act and worked directly with the government when that bill was introduced, conducting the field hearings on the bill and giving direct testimony before Congress. Ultimately Mr. Nordwall is well-known as the chief drafter of the 1984 and 2000 ILCA amendments as well as the representative of the Department of the Interior on the American Indian Probate Reform Act of 2004. — continued |
